Description
A Bitmain Antminer S19 running VNish firmware on a low-power tune. The S19 is the workhorse of the SHA-256 fleet market: 95 TH/s and 3,250 W from the factory, three BM1398 hashboards, integrated APW12 PSU, and a repair-parts supply chain that is still wide open years after launch. That last point is why we keep buying them — when a board fails you can actually get a replacement.

What the “2,800 W tune” actually means
Straight answer, because this matters: a tune is a trade, not free money. VNish lets you drop chip voltage and frequency to pull wall draw down from the factory 3,250 W to around 2,800 W, and efficiency in J/TH improves when you do it — but hashrate comes down too. 95 TH/s at 2,800 W would be 29.5 J/TH, and BM1398 silicon does not reach that number. Expect the tuned hashrate to land below the 95 TH/s factory figure.
We are not going to guess at the exact pair for you. Ask us and we will read the actual tuned hashrate and the measured wall draw off the specific unit before you pay. Every chip bin is different and ambient temperature moves the number.
Here is the number that tells you whether the answer is a good one. The factory pair is 34.2 J/TH. At 2,800 W, a tuned machine matches that only if it still hashes 81.8 TH/s or better — 2,800 ÷ 34.2. Above 81.8 TH/s the tune has genuinely bought you efficiency; below it, you have simply given up hashrate and moved nothing. Ask for the as-tested figure and do that one division before you pay.
Condition
This unit ships with VNish already flashed, which means it is a production machine and not factory-sealed stock. Ask us to confirm the grade (tested-working vs. refurbished), what has been replaced, and what warranty we are putting on it before you order — we will put it in writing. We do not blur used into new.
Power and siting — read this before you buy
An S19 is a 200–277 V AC machine. It will not run on a standard North American 120 V outlet, and at roughly 3.25 kW it needs a dedicated 240 V circuit with real headroom — a 20 A 240 V breaker per machine is the practical floor. It is also a genuinely loud industrial appliance at about 75 dB. This is a shed, garage, warehouse or hosted-facility miner, not a living-room miner. If you want something you can put in a house, look at the Avalon Q instead.

Questions buyers ask about this machine
Will this run on a normal household outlet?
No. This machine needs a dedicated 200–277 V circuit. A North American 120 V household outlet will not run it under any adapter or configuration. Have an electrician confirm the supply before the pallet arrives.
What can I mine with it?
The algorithm is SHA-256 (Bitcoin), and ASIC silicon is single-purpose: it will mine coins on that algorithm and nothing else, whatever the price of anything else does.
What condition is it in, and what does that grade mean?
This is second-hand stock. We describe it the way we found it: tested working means it ran on our bench at the stated hashrate, refurbished means it was also cleaned, re-pasted or had parts replaced, and as-is means it is sold without a working claim. The grade for this unit is stated in the description above; where a listing states no grade, it says so rather than implying one. Cosmetic wear — dust, scratches, label marks — is normal on hardware that has been mining and is not a fault.
What should I check the day it arrives?
Photograph the pallet or box before you open it, keep the packaging, and run the 48-hour acceptance test straight away. Freight claim windows are short, and a fault found on day two is a conversation while a fault found on day thirty is an argument. Is it worth repairing, and does used still win at this price?
At $159.99 this is the machine where the repair arithmetic stops working, and that is worth knowing before anything breaks. A tested-working S19 95 TH/s hashboard off our own parts shelf is $59.99 — 37% of what this miner costs. The rule we use, and the one the trade uses, is that a part costing more than about a third of the repaired machine’s value is not worth fitting. One board takes this unit past it. A S19 Pro 110 TH/s board set at $169.99 is more than the machine, and an APW12-class 5,600 W supply at $349.99 is more than twice it.
What still makes sense here is the cheap end: a S19/S20/S21 dual fan assembly at $24.99 and an APW9/APW12 power cable at $16.50. Those are the two failures worth preventing rather than repairing, because a fan that quietly stops is what cooks the board you then cannot afford to replace — why mining hardware fails has the order we actually see faults in. The honest spare for a $159.99 miner is a second $159.99 miner, not a shelf of boards, and if one does die past the point of repair, we buy used miners rather than leaving you with scrap.
Does used still win? On capital it is not close: $1.68 per terahash against the factory 95 TH/s rating, where a new S21 Pro 245T at $4,200 is $17.14 per terahash. You pay for that in efficiency — 34.2 J/TH against roughly 15 — so the decision is made by your electricity price and nothing else.
