One refurbished Antminer S19, factory-rated 95 TH/s and tuned toward 105 TH/s on Braiins OS. A single machine is the sensible way into this hardware. You find out what it genuinely costs you per month, how loud it genuinely is and what it does to the temperature of the room it lives in — all before that becomes ten of the same problem.
This machine is listed twice on this site, at two different prices. The other listing is the same refurbished Antminer S19 95TH/s with the same specification, and its web address is left over from an older lot listing. The two prices have not been reconciled. Two facts that end more first S19 purchases than any spec above
It takes 200–277 V AC. It will not run from a North American 110 V outlet in any configuration, no adapter or converter changes that, and this is the single most common reason a first miner goes back in its box. And it runs at roughly 75 dB on four fans — workshop noise, not appliance noise, and closer to a shop vacuum than to a computer. If this machine has to live where people sleep or work, an S19 is the wrong purchase and no amount of enclosure fixes it. Somewhere with 240 V, real airflow and nobody to annoy is the requirement.
What “boosted to 105 TH/s” costs you in watts
The metered draw at 105 TH/s is not stated in this listing, so no number is fabricated here. The floor is arithmetic: at the factory 34.2 J/TH, 105 TH/s would need 3,250 W × (105 ÷ 95) = about 3,592 W, and as overclocking worsens efficiency the true draw is higher again. At 240 V that is at least 15 A continuously from one machine — a dedicated circuit, sized with a continuous-load derate, not an extension lead from something else. Ask us to meter the actual unit and we will confirm the reading in writing.
Why the firmware boost is not free
Braiins OS tunes each chip separately rather than running the whole board at its weakest chip’s voltage. Held at the factory hashrate, that is a real efficiency gain. Spent on extra terahashes, as it is here, it goes the other way: power climbs faster than output, so a boosted machine is less efficient per terahash than a stock one. You are buying hashrate, not savings. Anyone telling you a boost also lowers the power bill is describing something the silicon cannot do. It also voids remaining manufacturer coverage, long expired on a 2020 machine.
What’s in the box
Sold refurbished and tested. This listing states no condition grade, no warranty term and nothing about whether a PSU is included, so this page asserts none of the three. On a single-machine purchase the PSU question is the one that bites: a bare miner and a complete one are very different buys. Ask us to confirm PSU, cord and plug standard, plus the return terms, in writing before you order.
Who should buy this
Someone who wants a cheap, real entry into SHA-256 mining, has 240 V available and somewhere loud to put it, and would rather learn the operational lessons on one unit than on ten. If it works out, the refurbished S19 lots are the obvious next step.
Questions buyers ask about this machine
Will this run on a normal household outlet?
No. This machine needs a dedicated 200–277 V circuit. A North American 120 V household outlet will not run it under any adapter or configuration. Have an electrician confirm the supply before the pallet arrives.
How loud is it?
~75 dB from 4 fans — about as loud as a household vacuum cleaner running continuously, and it does not stop. This is a garage, workshop, outbuilding or hosted-facility machine, not something to put in a room where people live or sleep.
What condition is it in, and what does that grade mean?
This is second-hand stock. We describe it the way we found it: tested working means it ran on our bench at the stated hashrate, refurbished means it was also cleaned, re-pasted or had parts replaced, and as-is means it is sold without a working claim. The grade for this unit is stated in the description above; where a listing states no grade, it says so rather than implying one. Cosmetic wear — dust, scratches, label marks — is normal on hardware that has been mining and is not a fault.
What should I check the day it arrives?
Photograph the pallet or box before you open it, keep the packaging, and run the 48-hour acceptance test straight away. Freight claim windows are short, and a fault found on day two is a conversation while a fault found on day thirty is an argument. Is it worth repairing, and does used still win at this price?
$249.99 is roughly where a used S19 becomes worth fixing. The same tested-working S19 95 TH/s hashboard that is 37% of our cheapest S19 is 24% of this one — inside the one-third rule, so one dead chain on this machine is a $59.99 repair rather than a write-off. A tested ctrl_C55 control board is the same $59.99, and it is worth knowing that a dead control board presents exactly like three dead hashboards: no interface, nothing found. Half the machines that reach us described as having a dead board have a healthy one. Where it stops: the S19 Pro 110 TH/s board set at $169.99 is 68% of this miner, and an APW12-class 5,600 W supply at $349.99 is more than it is worth. Two chains down and you are buying another machine.
The boost changes the used-vs-new answer, and not in its favour. Tuning a 95 TH/s S19 toward 105 buys hashrate by spending efficiency — power climbs faster than hashrate on the voltage-frequency curve, so the machine’s break-even electricity price gets worse, not better. At $2.63 per terahash against $17.14 for a new S21 Pro 245T at $4,200 the capital case is overwhelming; the running case is the one that has to survive your power contract. used vs new ASIC miners sets out both gates, in the order they actually kill purchases.
