Description

This is a power supply, not a miner. We are leading with that because the old title read like a lot of four Goldshell box miners, and it is not — it is a single Hewlett Packard 1200 W server PSU set up to run Goldshell box miners, and it can carry up to four boxes depending on what those boxes draw. If you came here expecting hardware that mines, the machines are on the miner list.

1200W HP power supply specifications

Type Server power supply unit, used to power Goldshell box miners
Manufacturer Hewlett Packard (HP). Not a Goldshell product — it is compatible with Goldshell boxes, which is a different thing
Rated output 1200 W
DC output 12 V DC, 100 A
AC input 100–240 V AC, 47–63 Hz, 15 A max
Efficiency Listed at 94%
Listed compatibility CK-BOX, HS-BOX, LD-BOX, ST-BOX, SC-BOX, MINI-DOGE, MINI-DOGE PRO, KD-BOX and KD-BOX II

The cord warning is not boilerplate — read it

If you intend to run two or more boxes from this supply you need a 15 A cord. That is the listing’s own warning and it is the correct one: 1200 W at 120 V is right at the limit of ordinary 15 A domestic cordage, and a thin “computer” cable is the part that gets hot first. Use a properly rated cord and a circuit that can carry it.

Working out how many boxes it will actually run

“Up to four” depends entirely on which boxes. Goldshell’s range spans a wide spread of power draw, and 1200 W is a hard ceiling — you should be sizing to the sum of the rated draw of your specific boxes plus headroom, not to a box count. Running a PSU at its nameplate continuously is how you find out what its real service life is. Tell us which models you are running and we will do the arithmetic with you before you order.

One more thing to confirm rather than assume: server PSUs of this type normally need a breakout board and PCIe cabling to be useful, and whether those are in the box varies. Ask us what ships with this one — we would rather tell you than have you discover it on the bench.

Condition and warranty

The listing states a 60-day warranty and a money-back guarantee if it does not work on your Goldshell boxes. That is the term that applies. It is not a manufacturer’s warranty — a previous version of this page claimed a 6-month manufacturer’s warranty alongside the 60-day term, which was wrong and contradicted itself, so it has been removed. If you want the coverage confirmed in writing before you buy, ask us.

Power supplies, cabling and bench tools are in repair parts and tools, including Antminer PSU cabling if you are working on the Bitmain side as well.

Shipping

Shipping this item inside the United States costs $49.99 by UPS Ground — that is the rate the checkout will charge, read from the store’s own shipping settings, not an estimate. Orders ship within 7 business days.

Outside the United States the checkout quotes a flat international rate. On multi-unit or pallet orders, contact us before ordering so freight to your destination can be confirmed properly. What to check when the pallet arrives, and how a freight claim works, is covered in the mining hardware shipping guide.

How this unit was tested

A used-hardware seller who will not tell you how they test is asking you to take the grade on trust, so the procedure is public: the six-step bench procedure a machine goes through before it gets a grade and a listing, and the five measurements that get recorded — per-board hashrate, chip count, measured wall power rather than the nameplate figure, hardware error rate, and temperature under sustained load. When it arrives, run the 48-hour acceptance test before the freight claim window closes.

Condition, warranty and returns

Condition: Repair part or bench tool — this shelf holds both new spares and as-is units, so read the condition stated in the description.

Warranty is stated per listing, not across the catalogue. Some units carry a manufacturer term and say so above, naming the term and the date it runs from. Many units, particularly used and AS-IS stock, carry none, and those listings do not claim one. There is no blanket warranty covering a catalogue that runs from sealed factory stock to a hashboard sold for parts. For what a mining warranty normally covers, see ASIC miner warranty explained.

Returns: ask for the terms on this unit before you pay. No single returns window is published for the whole store, because the sensible terms on a tested working machine and on a board sold AS-IS for parts are not the same terms. Email or call and ask what applies to this exact item — it is a two-minute conversation and a great deal cheaper than a dispute.
