Description
An AM3352 chip tester — a bench fixture with a BGA socket that tells you whether a Texas Instruments Sitara AM3352 processor is alive before you commit it to a control board. The AM3352 is a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 SoC, and in mining hardware it is the processor on BeagleBone-style Antminer control boards. The fixture has a spring-clamped BGA socket, banana-post DC input, an Ethernet jack and a digital readout, and its front panel is marked AM3352 test fixture.
Read this first: which Antminer control boards actually use an AM3352
This is the single fact that decides whether this tool is worth anything to you, and it is the one most listings leave out. Antminer control boards come in three families with three different processors:

If your dead control board is a Zynq or an Amlogic board, this fixture cannot help you. Identify the board before you buy the tool, not after. The quick tell is the storage: Zynq boards have an accessible SD card slot, BeagleBone boards have one hidden under the cover, and the Amlogic boards have no SD slot at all — just micro USB. If you are not sure what you are holding, send us a photo of the board and we will tell you.
When this pays for itself
Control board repair has one expensive failure mode: you decide the SoC is dead, you spend the better part of an hour pulling it and reballing a replacement, and the board still does not boot — and now you do not know whether the original diagnosis was wrong or the replacement chip was bad. Chips bought loose, in trays, described as “new” or as tested pulls, are exactly where that uncertainty comes from. Socketing the chip and getting a straight answer before it goes anywhere near a hot plate is what this fixture is for. It is a go / no-go on the chip, which removes one of the two variables.
It is a specialist tool and it is priced like one, so the honest guidance is: buy it if you repair control boards in volume and you are buying AM3352 chips loose. If you have one dead board, a tested replacement control board is the cheaper and faster answer, and we also stock a genuine Avalon 1166 Pro control board for the Canaan side. If the board boots but the miner will not accept it, the problem is usually firmware lock rather than silicon — that is what the Amlogic control board unlock kit addresses.
What the panel shows
The fixture carries a two-channel digital readout on the front. We are not going to tell you what each channel is calibrated to display without having the unit in front of us, because guessing at a meter’s units on a diagnostic tool is how people end up misreading results. What should I check the day it arrives?
Photograph the pallet or box before you open it, keep the packaging, and run the 48-hour acceptance test straight away. Freight claim windows are short, and a fault found on day two is a conversation while a fault found on day thirty is an argument. Read the marking on your control board before you order this. The AM3352 is the processor on the BeagleBone-style Antminer boards only — the Zynq C55 and C71 boards on much of the S19 generation use a different SoC entirely and this fixture will not tell you anything about them.
