What you are paying extra for

Three things, and it is worth being blunt about them. First, warranty: a factory warranty on a current-generation machine is the difference between a failed hashboard being a claim and being a repair bill. Second, known history — nobody has overclocked it, run it at 90°C in a shed, or flashed it. Third, current efficiency. A new S21-class machine at 13–15 J/TH will still be economic long after the S19 generation has been shut off.

What you are not paying for is more hashrate per dollar. Used hardware wins that comparison every time. If your power is cheap and your tolerance for maintenance is high, read the case for used and refurbished units before you buy new.

How to choose inside this section

Match the algorithm to the coin you actually intend to mine. SHA-256 machines (Antminer, Whatsminer, Avalon, Bitdeer) mine Bitcoin. Scrypt machines mine Litecoin and Dogecoin together. The altcoin ASICs mine exactly one chain each and cannot be repointed.

Match the cooling to your infrastructure, not your ambition. Air-cooled units run anywhere with a 240V circuit and airflow. Hydro and immersion models in this section will not run without a loop or a tank already built.

Check the batch. Several listings here are batch-dated. A January batch is a delivery window, not stock on a shelf, and the difficulty at delivery is not today’s difficulty. Ask us for the current lead time before you commit — we will give you the real date rather than the optimistic one.

Buying new does not automatically buy you efficiency

This is the thing to settle before you compare anything else in here. The shippable machines in this section run from 13.4 J/TH to 23.3 J/TH — a spread of roughly 1.7 to 1 in the one spec that decides whether a miner survives the next difficulty rise. The least efficient new machine on this shelf burns about three quarters more power for the same work than the most efficient one, and both are equally sealed, equally warrantied and equally free of run hours. Efficiency is a decision you make inside this category. The word “new” does not make it for you.

Break-even electricity rate, band by band

A machine stops earning the moment the electricity it burns per terahash-day costs more than a terahash-day pays, which makes the whole question one division: break-even rate = hashprice ÷ (24 × the machine’s J/TH). Hashrate cancels straight out of it, which is why a 90 TH/s machine and a 300 TH/s machine at the same J/TH break even at exactly the same price of power. Run against a hashprice of $32.18/PH/day, derived on 9 August 2026 from the last 144 blocks at a Bitcoin price of $64,959 and difficulty 127.48 T, the SHA-256 machines here fall into three bands. Re-run the division on the day you buy: hashprice moves daily and every figure below moves with it.

13.4 to 15 J/TH — break-even 10.0¢ down to 8.9¢/kWh. The Antminer S21 XP 270T at 13.5 J/TH, the S21+ Hyd 358T at 13.4, the Bitdeer SealMiner A2 Pro Air 255T at 14.9 and the S21 Pro 245T at 15.0. This band is the only shippable stock on the site with real headroom over 2026 hosting rates, and headroom is what survives a retarget.

15.5 to 18.6 J/TH — 8.7¢ down to 7.2¢. The Whatsminer M6x line, the S21+ 216T and the S21+ 235T at 16.5, the Canaan A15 Pro 221T and A1566HA 480T at 16.8, the S21 XP Hyd 473T at 17.9 and the Avalon Q 90T at 18.6. Comfortable on industrial power, thin on hosted power, and not viable on a residential tariff at this hashprice.

19 to 23.3 J/TH — 7.1¢ down to 5.8¢. The S19 XP Hyd pair at 19 and 20.8, the Avalon Mini3 37.5T at 21.3, the S19K Pro 115T and 120T at 23, and the Avalon Nano3s 6T at 23.3. These are new machines with used-machine economics, and it is worth saying so plainly: the S19k Pro on our used and refurbished shelf runs at the same 23 J/TH and therefore breaks even at the same 5.8¢. In this band the premium for new buys you a warranty and a known history — both real things to want, and sometimes the deciding ones — but it does not buy you a single cent of break-even headroom.

Three caveats before you use those numbers

They apply to the SHA-256 machines only. This section also holds new Scrypt hardware for Litecoin and Dogecoin and new single-chain altcoin ASICs. The division is identical, but the hashprice you put into it is that coin’s rather than Bitcoin’s, and altcoin hashprice moves far harder than Bitcoin’s does.

Two machines in here are not economic machines at all. The NerdQaxe++ solo miner at 4.8 TH/s and the Avalon Nano3s at 6 TH/s are teaching tools and lottery tickets, and they are good ones. Run break-even on either and you will get an arithmetically correct answer that misses the entire point of owning it.

A batch date is not stock on a shelf. The S23 318T and S23 Hyd 580T listed here are next-generation preorders. Their efficiency figures — around 11 and 9.5 J/TH — are Bitmain’s published numbers for those machines, not measurements we have taken on a unit in our own hands, and difficulty rises between the order and the delivery. If a date matters to your build, ask us for the current lead time and we will give you the real one rather than the optimistic one.

Who this suits

Operators sizing a new build, anyone deploying to a hosting facility with an uptime SLA, and buyers who want a warranty to point at. If you are experimenting, learning, or building a small home setup, buy used and keep the difference.

Buying new comes down to efficiency per dollar, not terahash per dollar. The Antminer S21 Pro 245T at 15 J/TH and the Antminer S21+ 216T at 16.5 J/TH are the two SHA-256 machines worth putting side by side first. If you are mining Scrypt rather than Bitcoin, the Antminer L9 17G is the equivalent starting point.

Which manufacturer, and why it matters

The 73 new machines here come from ten makers. On SHA-256 that is Bitmain Antminer, MicroBT WhatsMiner, Canaan Avalon and Bitdeer SealMiner. Away from Bitcoin the range is wider than most buyers expect: ElphaPex and VolcMiner on Scrypt, IceRiver on Kaspa and Aleo, Goldshell across Aleo, Tari and Scrypt, and Fluminer for machines built to live in a house.

Warranty is the reason this matters on a new machine. Buying new is largely buying cover, and cover is a property of the manufacturer rather than of the category — term, who pays freight each way, and what voids it all differ by maker. Where a listing states no warranty term, none is claimed, and the brand shelf above says so in plainer words than a spec table can.
