Rockwell’s own product record for this catalogue number says No Filter, and the N in the number is literally the no-filter code — the filtered variants carry a different letter. We are telling you this because if you are buying to a CE requirement, that one wrong word on a spec sheet costs you a machine build.

The 525 splits into a power module and a control module that unclips from it. No, whatever you read elsewhere. Several resellers describe this catalogue number as having an integral EMC filter; Rockwell’s own product record says No Filter, and the N in the number is the no-filter code — the filtered variants carry a different letter. If you are buying to a CE requirement, that one wrong word on somebody else’s spec sheet costs you a machine build.

Will it talk to my PLC, and is it safety rated?

Yes on both, and that is the main reason to want a 525 over the smaller drives: EtherNet/IP is embedded rather than an add-on card, Safe Torque Off is embedded, and there is a brake IGBT on board. It is rated 2.2 kW / 3 HP at 6.0 A continuous on a 380–480 V three-phase supply.
